SIS LIVE has been shortlisted for ‘Best Satellite Contribution/Distribution/Transmission Solution’ in the prestigious CSI Awards, in recognition of its pioneering contribution to the satellite market.
The annual awards, which highlight innovation and excellence in the cable, satellite, broadcast and associated sectors, attracted more entries than ever this year, making it an even greater achievement for SIS LIVE to make the shortlist.
SIS LIVE’s solution is a DVB/IP Share system which allows both DVB and IP traffic to share the same satellite bandwidth. It means live news transmissions for bulletins can share the same capacity as the IP network, rather than having to use expensive additional satellite capacity which otherwise stands idle.
David Meynell, managing director, SIS LIVE, said: “The DVB/IP Share system is another example of SIS LIVE’s innovative connectivity solutions, because it offers much better utilisation of expensive satellite capacity and allows broadcasters to improve workflows. This unique piece of software, developed by our in-house team allows the most flexible use of capacity possible. It enables our customers to still have guaranteed bandwidth for live video transmissions but also maximises capacity for IP requirements.
“We’re very proud of the product and delighted that it has been recognised in the CSI shortlist. It’s a reflection of SIS LIVE’s dedication to providing reliable connectivity services, delivered securely and cost-effectively whenever and wherever our customers require.”
The CSI Awards 2015 will take place on Friday 11 September 2015 at IBC in Amsterdam.
