ITV’s Text Santa Appeal launch

2nd December 2014

SIS LIVE is pleased to be helping ITV’s Phillip Schofield to launch this year’s Text Santa appeal with a 24-hour celebrity-packed live TV challenge.

The This Morning Presenter launched the annual charity appeal by popping up on programmes across ITV, and broadcasting live from venues in central London for 24 hours from 11am on Monday, 1st December.

Viewers have been watching an exciting 24 hours of live comedy, stunts and fun as Schofield dashes between venues to publicise the fund-raising drive, which culminates in a three-hour live TV special nearer Christmas.

SIS LIVE’s camera operators were following Schofield yesterday, at the Christmas Market on London’s South Bank, and when he hopped aboard the London Eye. He is due to complete his marathon broadcast this morning.

A SIS LIVE HD uplink truck was parked nearby to broadcast all the live ITV footage via satellite, supported by our 24/7 network operations centre and teleport at MediaCityUK.

ITV Production Manager, Helen Burrows, said: “We’re delighted that SIS LIVE is helping us out on the Text Santa 24 Hours Live Launch Show. It’s a challenge of a lifetime for Phillip Schofield as presenter, and with celebs galore popping up on screen to help him out, it promises to be both exciting and unpredictable!

“We trust SIS LIVE to provide the cameras and satellite links to ensure our viewers follow every bit of the live action in what promises to be a highly entertaining 24 hours.”

David Meynell, Managing Director, SIS LIVE, said: “We are very pleased to be involved with the Text Santa 24 Hours Live Launch Show. We already have a great working relationship with ITV, ITV Sport and ITN, providing facilities for multiple live broadcasts.

“As ever with live TV, we’ve come to expect the unexpected – and the Text Santa launch promises to provide some great entertainment. But our camera, technical support and satellite uplink crews have the experience and skill to ensure viewers enjoy the highest quality live coverage.”
