Satellite Uplinks

Global Reach

SIS LIVE, soon to rebrand under the name of NEP Connect, is Europe’s largest satellite uplink supplier. In the UK, we provide contracted and occasional use satellite services to major broadcasters, rights holders, production companies and event organisers.

We operate the largest fleet of mobile satellite uplink vehicles in Europe to suit any size of production, delivering vision, audio and talkback from sites all over the world. We provide UHD, HD and SD services offering fully managed end-to-end solutions.

OU or Contracted

SIS LIVE is one of Europe’s largest suppliers of satellite flyaways and occasional use (OU) satellite services, providing more than 300MHz of permanently leased satellite capacity. This dedicated capacity, together with our relationships with ABS, Eutelsat, Intelsat and SES, offers optimum global coverage at very competitive rates.

SIS LIVE also operates multiple regional bases throughout the UK, so can get to any location, fast! Since our first live non-sport broadcast of the fall of the Berlin wall back in 1989, we have become a major force in the satellite uplink and satellite news gathering (SNG) markets. From a handful of vehicles our fleet has grown and we operate the largest independent fleet of uplinks and flyways in Europe.

A key element of any SNG operation is comms and our trucks have it with comms over satellite plus diverse mobile phones with TBU’s as an alternative. Many of our uplinks also have broadband IP over satellite so that the crew on site can transfer edits as files and also have full back office connectivity including robust, uncontended wifi and internet access.

We don’t just supply the satellite services, we also supply crews and our office staff can help you to sort out all those administrative details such as Ofcom site clearances, access and parking permits and accreditations.

We cover over 250 hours of worldwide events every day, for both contracted and OU services. That’s over 6,000 events broadcast every year and our credits include:

  • The London Marathon
  • F1 and Moto GP
  • European Tour Golf
  • Glastonbury Festival
  • UK Elections
  • UEFA Champions League Football
  • Premiership Football
  • The X Factor
  • Wimbledon
  • Tour de France
  • World SuperBikes

Behind the Scenes – Our Teleports and NOCs

SIS LIVE operates two broadcast teleports, located at MediaCityUK in Manchester and Milton Keynes. Our teleports are robust, resilient and secure, providing essential connectivity to broadcasters, with direct access to the global satellite market. Our dedicated network operations centres (NOC) is operational 24hrs a day, 365 days a year. This facility provides monitoring and switching for both satellite and ground based communications and can carry out the most complex routing tasks.
